Prerequisite: Licensed Massage Therapist or anyone in the process of obtaining licensure, other health care workers who are qualified to perform massage as part of their treatment to clients; satisfactory completion of a comprehensive course in Anatomy and Physiology. Trigger Point Therapy $300

Back by popular demand!! This course has been a favorite among students who want to learn to treat clients’ muscular pain effectively and efficiently. Each session begins with a review of musculoskeletal anatomy. Students learn to locate and treat specific trigger points and referral pain patterns throughout the body. Also, there is ample discussion of how trigger points may perpetuate through daily activities. This course combines theory, discussion, and ample hands-on practice.

Course hours: 30 hours, not eligible for NCBTMB recertification CEU’s.

Massage for People Living with Cancer $350

Join us for our 3 rd annual Massage for People Living with Cancer course, taught by renowned author and instructor, Gail MacDonald, of Portland Oregon. This course will explore the emotional relationship for people living with cancer; provide an introduction to the basics of metastasis, and discuss cautionary measures when massaging cancer patients who have undergone surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. Further, students will learn how to adjust the massage sessions to suit each individual’s needs. The intake process will be covered and rehearsed. There will also be ample hands-on practice in providing a relaxation massage among classmates and to a client who has cancer or is recovering from it.

Course hours: 24 hours, which are eligible for NCBTMB recertification CEU’s.
