Grammar Workshops

Holomua offers a Grammar Workshops series for students who want to work on learning the basic rules of grammar and mechanics. Students can learn how to identify and fix common grammar/mechanics errors.

Topics may include:

  • Fragments
  • Fused Run-Ons and Comma Splices
  • Subject-Verb Agreement
  • Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement
  • Verb Problems-Present and Past Perfect Tenses
  • Verb Problems-Past and Past Perfect Tenses
  • Misplaced and Dangling Modifiers
  • Semicolons, Colons, and Commas
  • Pronoun Reference
  • Faulty Parallelism
  • Wordiness
  • Sentence Combining

The Grammar Workshops are free and open to all KCC students, staff, and faculty. Please sign up at the Holomua Center the week before each workshop.
